An Introduction to PVM

PVM is a public domain software package which may be installed on a wide range of Unix based machines as well as a range of parallel architecture computers. PVM permits a network of machines to be viewed as a single parallel computing resource. PVM provides a console to manipulate this resource and a library of communication routines to implement parallel algorithms in C, C++ and Fortran using the message passing programming paradigm.

This course should/can be combined with a course on the generic principles of message passing.
